Step out of The Coach House and take a 2-minute walk onto Monton Road. Grab an espresso and fresh sourdough pastry at Playfoots Cafe and Bar. before walking past the quirky Monton Lighthouse. Head down the access ramp straight onto the historic Bridgewater Canal towpath, facing west toward Worsley.

2.The Waterside Stroll to Worsley Delph: 10:30 AM - 11:45 AM.

Follow the flat, tree-fringed towpath for 1.8 miles. Pass Duke's Drive Park on your left and watch for heron perched along the reed beds. As you approach Worsley, the water turns a distinct iron-rust terracotta colour—signalling your arrival at Worsley Delph, the sandstone basin where underground coal barges once emerged into the open air.

3.Worsley Village & Historic Pub Lunch: 11:45 AM - 01:30 PM.

Explore the black-and-white half-timbered cottages surrounding the Worsley Green fountain. Settle in for lunch at The Barton Arms (a classic 19th-century pub serving excellent cask ales) or walk across the green to Worsley Old Hall, a grand 17th-century manor house pub featuring spacious garden seating.

4.Worsley Woods & The Swiss Cottage: 01:30 PM - 03:00 PM.

From the Green, follow the woodland trail signs into Worsley Woods. Cross the wooden footbridges along Old Hall Clough and seek out the hidden 18th-century timber-framed Swiss Cottage, built originally as a boathouse for the 3rd Duke of Bridgewater.

5.The Roe Green Loopline & Afternoon Pint: 03:00 PM - 05:00 PM.

Join the Roe Green Loopline, a tree-canopied greenway built along the historic 1870 London and North Western Railway bed. Follow the peaceful, traffic-free trail back toward Monton, making a pitstop at Albert's Worsley for a cold drink on their outdoor terrace.

6.Evening Drinks in 'Monton Carlo': 05:00 PM Onwards.

Re-enter Monton Village via Monton Green. Cap off your day with low-intervention wines and a charcuterie board at The Wandering Palate, or indulge in craft ales at Malt Dog. From there, it's a seamless 6-minute walk home to the warmth of The Coach House.
